LQ156M1LG21 Overview

Sharp LQ156M1LG21 is a 15.6-inch diagonal a-Si TFT-LCD display panel. This module is a color active matrix LCD module incorporating amorphous silicon TFT(Thin Film Transistor). It is composed of a color TFT-LCD panel, driver ICs, control circuit, power supply circuit and a White-LED Backlight unit. Graphics and texts can be displayed on a 1920 × RGB x 1080dots panel with about 16million colors by using LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) and supplying +12.0V DC supply voltages for TFT-LCD panel driving and +12.0V DC supply voltage for backlight.

LQ156M1LG21 LVDS Interface Block Diagram

The interface block diagram illustrates that the LQ156M1LG21 adopts a dual-channel 8-bit LVDS architecture, consisting of ODD and EVEN parallel channels to reduce transmission frequency and electromagnetic interference.

On the host side, the controller outputs 8-bit RGB and control signals (DE), which are converted by a transmitter IC (such as THC63LVD823B) from parallel TTL signals into serial differential signals. Each channel contains 4 pairs of data differential lines and 1 pair of clock differential lines (the odd channel uses RAIN03 and RACKIN, while the even channel uses RBIN03 and RBCKIN).

On the LCD panel side, the receiver integrated within the control IC, together with a PLL circuit, synchronously receives the two-channel differential data streams. After LVDS-to-parallel TTL decoding, the signals are restored and used to drive internal circuits, ultimately enabling 1080P full HD image rendering.
